The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades Before Roe v. Wade
I read this book in 5 hours, it was so engrossing. It made me think of a side of adoption that honestly never occurred to me. It never crossed my mind, even being a child of adoption, that the birth mother would still be in pain about it so many years later. I said a prayer for my birth mother this year on my 30th birthday hoping that she has made peace with the decision she made. I am eternally grateful for her sacrifice.
